On Thursday, January 5th, the Dothan Police Foundation was presented with a check from the Run the Circle Committee through Visit Dothan for the proceeds from our annual Run the Circle Marathon event. This year’s event raised a profit of $25,842. The Dothan Police Foundation will be proud to use these funds in projects that support the Dothan Police Department in ways that will benefit Police Training and Education, the Community First Initiative, and the Pro-Life Animal Services Program. The Foundation is thankful to all of the sponsors, donors, and volunteers both within the Foundation and at Visit Dothan, and also to all of the dedicated runners who participated and helped us to make this year’s run the best one yet! We are honored by your support, and we will see you again next year!

The Dothan Police Foundation was honored to present the Wiregrass Area Pan-Hellenic Council with a $1,000 donation to assist in their Backpack Drive for Schools, by helping fund backpacks and school supplies. The Pan-Hellenic Council will be giving away free backpacks loaded with school supplies on Saturday, July 23 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Walton Park Recreation Center. Food and drinks will also be available!

The Dothan Police Foundation was recently awarded an Education Grant by the Southeast Alabama Community Foundation.  This grant supports the Citizen Firearm Safety Class that is hosted by the Dothan Police Department.  The Citizen Firearm Safety Class is held numerous times a year at the Wiregrass Public Safety Center, and it is made available to local citizens who apply.

The class educates students on firearm fundamentals, applicable laws, and safety practices. If you or someone you know is interested, please fill out an application by clicking the link below.
